RJC Frieze Week

We worked with JewelryArts 24 winner Djeneba Aduayom to curate a striking digital art exhibition during Frieze Week 2024. Her winning piece, Atmospheric Perspective, explores global warming through a multi-technology approach, envisioning an Earth scorched by rising temperatures and urging environmental awareness. Alongside it, Earthen Adornments celebrates nature’s raw textures and resilience, drawing from red clays to sparkling minerals.

This immersive installation transformed the space, offering a multi-sensory journey that captivated guests and highlighted Aduayom’s unique artistic vision. Through strategic collaborations and thoughtful curation, we delivered an experience that pushed the boundaries of innovation and artistic expression, leaving a lasting impression on all who attended.

Aduayom’s own journey very much speaks to JA24. The California-based artist enjoyed a successful career as a dancer before emerging as a photographer in 2011. She’s since become recognised for her editorial portraiture, fashion and art practice and has exhibited worldwide. Her surreal and often dreamy images are marked by a sense of movement and remind us of the universality of the human experience, an understanding that stems from her multicultural heritage and authentic empathy for people and the planet.

“The JA24 exhibition reveals the intricate relationship between Earth’s raw materials and human artistry."

"Atmospheric Perspective", the award-winning work by Los Angeles photographer Djeneba Aduayom at SILO London. Announced as the winner of JewerlyArts24, a competition by the Responsible Jewelry Council (RJC), Harvard's Mineralogical & Geological Museum, and the Gemological Institute of America, Aduyom's piece reflects the trauma of our planet's deteriorating health.

ZERO WITH SILO

Silo originated in Australia back in 2011 when artist Joost Bakker introduced the concept of 'not having a bin.' Since then, Silo's chef-and owner Douglas has diligently developed the business into the world's first zero-waste restaurant.

Paired with SILO's zero-waste sensory food experience, this installation merges art and sustainability, creating a transformative journey that highlights the connection between environmental impact, our health and mindful consumption. Curated to transform your experience within the space, it invites reflection on how mindful consumption and creativity can inspire positive change for both people and the planet.

“Jewellery charts the history of humanity, which is why I believe there should be no barriers to entry”

— MELANIE GRANT
